Ferra Hotel Boracay (Ferra Premiere) is one of Boracay Island’s hidden gems. Tucked away in a quiet unassuming street off Balabag Lake, this beautifully designed hotel is sure to surprise any arriving guest with its eye-catching stylish interiors and welcoming reception.

Ferra Hotel is known for its exceptional service. In fact, the hotel has consistently earned top guest ratings on online booking/review sites: 5/5 on TripAdvisor, 9/10 on Agoda, and 8.9/10 on Booking.com. These scores are among the highest rated places to stay on the island!

I’ve stayed at Ferra Hotel twice so far. The first time was during the hotel’s opening year, in 2015. I went back on the first-day of Boracay’s 2018 re-opening (after the 6 months “closure”/rehabilitation of the island).

Boutique Hotel Experience

The first time I stepped into the lobby, I fell in love with it instantly. The design was an eye-catching modern look with a minimalist touch. I particularly fawned over the nature-inspired elements that added an easy and relaxing mood.

Three years later, Ferra Hotel looked almost exactly as I had remembered it. It was still a pleasant surprise to enter the beautifully designed lobby, especially given its location — along an unassuming alley near Balabag Lake. I was welcomed with friendly smiles from the reception staff and a refreshing drink.

I highly recommend Ferra Hotel if you’re a fan of staying at boutique hotels. This hotel ticks off all the marks — intimate atmosphere, personalized experience & chic aesthetics.

Ferra Hotel Location

Ferra Hotel is centrally located in the area of Balabag Lake (also called “Laketown”). The hotel is not on the beachfront, but it is within easy walking distance to two of Boracay’s main beaches, the famous White Beach and Bulabog Beach (the “back” beach popular for Kiteboarding).

You can find Ferra Hotel near Budget Mart, found along the “main road” side of D Mall (see the location on Google Maps).

How to Get to Ferra Hotel

Ferra Hotel can arrange hassle-free “airport to hotel” transfers on request. If you haven’t already read it yet, check out my Boracay Travel Guide for tips on how to get to the island.

You can pre-book convenient transfers online as well. Click below to check shuttle+ferry fares from:

In case you are already on the island, here’s how you can find Ferra Hotel:

Go to Budget Mart, centrally located along the “main road” side of D Mall.

Facing Balabag Lake, follow the “main road” on your left.

Take the first turn right & walk straight past the lakeside, towards Bulabog Beach

Turn left at the alley before ‘Munchies’ restaurant. There should be signages on this intersection leading you to “Ferra Hotel.” From here, it’s just a mere 60m walk away.

During my most recent stay at Ferra Hotel, I excitedly arrived on the first day that Boracay was re-opening to the public. The island was closed from May to Oct 2018 for rehabilitation. Ferra Hotel was among the few accommodations granted the go signal to resume operations.

If you are set on visiting the island, make sure to book your rooms prior to arriving. All tourists entering Boracay are now required to present proof of their hotel reservations. At Caticlan Jetty Port, I presented a copy of my booking at Ferra Hotel and proceeded to the ferry ride to Boracay without a hitch.

Iloilo to Boracay

I traveled to Boracay with other Iloilo-based bloggers during my first stay at Ferra Hotel. They provided private Iloilo-Caticlan shuttle transfers and private boat+shuttle transfers between Caticlan Jetty Port and the hotel. If you’re traveling from Iloilo with friends/family, Ferra can help arrange the comfy private transfers for you.

Ferra Hotel Rooms

I’ve stayed in two room types at Ferra — the (1) superior twin room and (2) the standard room. These rooms have wooden flooring and warm accents that provided a cozy ambiance. The space is enough to fit two people. The twin room can accommodate an extra person if need be.

All rooms are well appointed. The hotel even provides each guest with rubber slippers (in case you forgot to pack one from home). It’s these little details that make a memorable stay for me. I also enjoyed the large flat screen TV and fast WIFI, perfect for those moments when you just want to stay comfy in your air-conditioned room… like during the mid-day hours when the tropical heat can be too punishing.

The room was quite small but still, it is good value for money considering the high prices of Boracay hotels and resorts.

If you are traveling in a group or need the extra wiggle room, Ferra Hotel also offers spacious one to two-bedroom suites and lofts.

Ferra Hotel Swimming Pool

The pool is located on the ground floor, beside the restaurant. It felt a bit awkwardly placed, but I kinda liked that it brought a quirky charm and added coolness.

Ferra Hotel Food

Ferra Hotel serves buffet breakfast and all-day dining at Modern Asia (ground floor). As the name suggests, they serve food from different Asian cuisines, with a modern twist.

Here are some of the dishes they served during my latest trip. I loved the deep-fried Bacon and the Kare-Kare!

Here are photos of food they served during my first trip. The standouts were the Mushroom “Sisig” Brie Toast, Seafood Hot and Sour Soup (two thumbs up!), Assorted Satay (Chicken, Pork, and Beef), Sausage Platter, Steamed Fish Fillet, and Butter Poached Salmon.

Boracay Rooftop Bar + Restaurant

The RUF (roof-deck lounge and bar) is my favorite part of the hotel. The setting is very intimate and relaxing, perfect for enjoying the night breeze.

Modern Asia and The RUF are worth a visit whenever you are in Boracay. Both are open to the public even if you are not staying as a guest of the hotel.

Ferra Hotel Boracay Tours

Ferra Hotel’s central location offers an easy jump-off point to explore the other inland attractions of Boracay. Ferra Hotel can arrange the activities below for you.

Go on a half-day trip to Mount Luho viewpoint, a short 5-minute drive from the hotel, and Puka Beach, located along Boracay’s northern coast.

During my first trip, we experienced helmet diving and Paraw sailing. Honestly, I did not enjoy the helmet diving that much, but our Paraw sailing under the sunset twilight was perfect. It’s #1 on my list of things to do in Boracay!
