5 Places to Visit in Mui Ne + Things To Do

Mui Ne is a charming beach resort town with a character. Located in Binh Thuan province, south of Vietnam, it’s famous for its long stretch of palm-lined sandy beaches.

Mui Ne was just a ward of the provincial capital, Phan Thiet. But it turned out to become one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in the country since crowds flocked on October 24, 1995, to witness the historic solar eclipse. Since then, over a hundred beach resorts, cafés, nightclubs, shops, and accommodations sprouted. Tourists love how the White and Red Sand Dunes make them feel what it’s like to be in the desert, right next to a beach. Other notable attractions are The Fairy Stream and the Red Canyon. You may also roam around the fishing village and explore the local lifestyle as you binge on local food, highlighted by their iguana dishes.

There is no direct flight to Mui Ne or Phan Thiet. Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City serves major Asian cities like Busan, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Manila, Singapore, and Taipei. It is about 200 kilometers away, or four hours of travel by train; five by bus.
