Cagayan is a quaint province between the Cordilleras and the Sierra Madre mountain ranges, located in northern Philippines. It was one of the earliest provinces during the Spanish colonial period and was once pertained to as what is now the vast Cagayan Valley region, which also includes the provinces of Isabela, Quirino, Batanes, and Nueva Vizacaya presently.
One of Cagayan's top travel destinations is Callao Cave, a seven-chamber cave system featuring astonishing limestone rock formations and a cathedral dome impressively illuminated by natural daylight. For pilgrims, the three top destinations are Calvary Hills, a favorite spot overlooking Cagayan River; St. Peter Metropolitan Cathedral or the Tuguegarao Cathedral, a Spanish-style church with a vast compound perfect for meditation; and the Basilica Minore of Our Lady of Piat, home to the centuries-old Madonna or the Our Lady of Piat. For beach lovers, Palaui Island, Anguib Beach, and Zinagu Cove are hard to miss for their pristine blue waters and scenic surroundings.
More than being a prized gem in the Cagayan Valley region, Cagayan also makes a good starting point to other destinations in northern Luzon, including Ilocos and Kalinga and Apayao in the Mountain Province.

Pro tip: Remember to set your minimum/maximum price, travel dates, and sort by review ratings. Book sooner rather than later if you already have your dates set.
