The Cinque Terre are five villages in northwest Italy, just south of Genoa. It is a stretch of shoreline in Italy's Riviera that is made up of five distinct communities.

Cinque Terre is only 15 square miles in size and is jam-packed with spectacular scenery, including cliffs, picturesque coves, pure blue waters, terraced vineyards, and olive groves that are connected by a web of walkways. To give yourself enough time to tour each village, take a few half-day treks, and take a boat excursion along the coast, you should ideally spend three or four days in the Cinque Terre. Explore the towns at various times of day and choose your favourite to return to for dinner or sundown. Each hamlet has a unique feel.

Train travel is the most convenient method of transportation to the Cinque Terre. Take the local train from Genoa (Genova) to La Spezia, then get off where you need to.
