Kuala Lipis is a small town with a significant history. It’s currently the capital of Lipis District in Pahang, Malaysia, but during its heyday, it was the seat of government, unfortunately surrounded by intrigues. Suffice to say, Kuala Lipis is the closest anyone could get to a quaint Malay town with Colonial-era influences.
While the town is little known to modern-day tourists, it’s like a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered. Kuala Lipis is like an open-air museum with mighty old structures, including Thean Hou Temple, Masjid Negeri, Kuala Lipis Train Station, Old Railway Bridge, and an expanse of heritage buildings. If you love exploring nature, you should book a jungle walk through Kenong Rimba Park or explore the Sungai Yu Tiger Corridor. For adventurous travelers, trying the Jeram Besu rapids is a must.
Kuala Lipis is accessible by train from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. For other foreign visitors, the best route is through Kuala Lumpur International Airport, then a road travel of over 150 kilometers.

Pro tip: Remember to set your minimum/maximum price, travel dates, and sort by review ratings. Book sooner rather than later if you already have your dates set. Cheaper-priced rooms and hotels with high reviews tend to get fully booked faster, especially during busy days like weekends, holidays & peak tourist seasons.
