The province of Cotabato is in the Soccksargen region of Mindanao, Philippines. It is a landlocked province with Kidapawan City as its capital. It was formerly known as North Cotabato but is now regarded as merely Cotabato. And although they bear similar names, this province should not be confused with Cotabato City, which is part of the Bangsamoro region.

Cotabato has hidden beauties worth unearthing. Its cluster of natural falls, which include Asik Asik, Daday, Kapati, and Tausuvan are breathtakingly beautiful. Then, there are its charming lakes like Lake Agco, the “Eden of Kidapawan City,” a natural hot spring water surrounded by lush greeneries. On the other hand is less popular Lake Baranibud, accessible only via hours of hiking. But all those natural attractions are no match to the imposing views of Mount Apo, tagged as the king of Philippine mountains for its towering 2,956 meters elevation. Trekking to its summit is an adventure of a lifetime.

Cotabato is a stunning province with unexploited tourism sites. It is also a great base to explore the rest of Soccsksargen region, including General Santos City, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, and South Cotabato.
